Frequently Asked Question:
Q: When will we know the event is postponed due to weather?
The forecast will be monitored starting on Wednesday. If there is a
chance of rain in the forecast when checked on Saturday afternoon, we will
send out emails to those who have pre-registered. Also, the website and Facebook
page will be updated. It's best to pre-register so you'll receive an
update without having to check online. The rain date will be Sunday
October 27th. If that date is rained out, the run may not be rescheduled
in 2019. We'll start working on 2020!
Q: Can I start my run at 8am and fly to 4 airports, then park my plane
and drive to Lewis?
Yes. As long as you arrive and have your cards and fee submitted no
later than 1:00pm.
Q: What if I arrive at an airport and they do not have any cards
There will be at least 52 cards available at each airport. If you are
one of the last pilots and do not receive a card, we will have an extra
deck for that particular airport at the final destination, Lewis.
What if I'm done with the run by 10am? What should I do?
There are several options. The course should take roughly under 2 hours
to complete (landing, obtaining the card, taxing, departing) You
Hang out at Lewis until the food is served at 12:30pm.
(if you do, we may ask you to help!)
Land at your departing airport and drive to Lewis.
Continue flying until we're ready on the ground.
Maybe consider starting your run a little later in
the morning if your calculations predict you'll be finished too
Q: What if I only fly to 3 of the other airports, will I be able to
A: Yes, as long as your hand is submitted by 1:00pm at
Lewis. But you will only have 4 cards to play with. You may buy a 5th
card as per the rules listed. So the most cards you can play form the
run would be 8... which is isn't bad at all.
